Abundant Life

Could it be that the key to understanding the abundant life of which Jesus talked about for his disciples in John 10:10 lie in applying what John wrote about in his first epistle?

Abundant Life: I came that [Jesus' followers] may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10, ESV)
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy [the sheep].
I came that they may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10, ESV)
In this context, it might be very important for each of us to ponder upon the following set of questions, based on John’s introduction to his first letter: Is Jesus the source of our joy (1 John 1:1-2)? Is Jesus the source of our communion with one another (1 John 1:3)? Is Jesus the source of our joy (1 John 1:4)? Is Jesus the light of our lives (1 John 1:5-7)? Is Jesus the source of our accepting and our giving forgiveness (1 John 1:8 to 2:10)?
